The World
Barthansis is a third-person RPG being built by one developer, one system at a time. Six open zones ring a burning heart: light a land's pyre once, and its flame will carry you back forever. Between the pyres lie mob camps that grow crueler with every ring you push outward — and towns whose keepers will sell you the steel to survive it.
DustwindThe desert crossroads where every adventurer takes their first steps — and buys their first longbow.
Verdant ValeOpen plains and gentle hills, where wildbeasts graze until provoked.
ThornwoodA forest of winding trails, bat colonies, and things that watch from the canopy.
StonereachMountain passes held by ogre clans, rank upon rank, chieftain at the summit.
MirebrookRain-soaked mud and standing pools, patrolled by dusk wardens that never sleep.
FrostmawThe far snows, where only the well-geared and well-leveled dare the cold.
How It Plays
- Fourteen playable heroes, each with their own model, animations, and spell-casting style
- Pyre fast travel — light them across the world, then leap between them at will
- A bestiary of 33 creature archetypes, from cave bats to constructs, leveled 1 to 100
- Honest aggro rules: outlevel a camp and it ignores you — until you loose the first arrow
- Melee and ranged combat with auto-attack, fall damage, and gravity that always wins
- Six staffed shops in every town: weapons, armor, potions, scrolls, trinkets, and the saloon
- A positional bag — your items stay exactly where you put them, through every save
- Magic learned from scrolls, cast from the hotbar, powered by a mana pool that never stops ticking
- Freely arrangeable HUD: drag, scale, and pin every window where you want it
- Multiple characters per world, FFXIV-style character select with a living 3D showcase

Coming to the Bestiary
The bestiary keeps growing. Two of the next horrors are already on the drawing board: a stone golem that shrugs off steel, and a spider queen whose brood does the hunting for her. Both are bound for the deeper rings, where the pyres burn few and far between.
